The Angry King and the Broken Mirror – A Moral Story About Self-Reflection

Everyone feared his anger.
No one questioned his temper.

In a grand kingdom lived a powerful king.

He was brave.
He was rich.
He was respected.

But he had one dangerous weakness.

He got angry very easily.

If a servant made a small mistake,
the king would shout.

If a minister disagreed,
the king would punish him.

The entire palace lived in fear.

One morning, while getting dressed,
the king looked into his mirror.

He did not like what he saw.

His face looked tired.
His eyes looked cruel.

Anger rose inside him.

He lifted his hand
and threw the mirror to the ground.

Crash.

The mirror broke into pieces.

“Useless mirror!” he shouted.

Just then, an old wise servant entered.

He quietly picked up a broken piece
and held it in front of the king.

The king saw his reflection.

But this time, his face looked even worse.

Distorted.
Angry.
Ugly.

“Why does it look so horrible?”
the king shouted.

The servant bowed and said softly:

“Your Majesty,
the mirror only shows what stands before it.

If the reflection is ugly,
the face must be ugly first.”

The king froze.

For the first time,
he realized something painful.

The problem was not the mirror.

The problem was him.

That day, the king ordered all mirrors
to be fixed.

But more importantly…

He started fixing his anger.

Slowly, the palace became peaceful.

People stopped fearing him.

And for the first time in years,
the king smiled at his reflection.
