Long ago,
in a vast green forest,
animals lived peacefully.
Tall trees gave shade.
Rivers flowed gently.
Birds sang every morning.
One summer afternoon,
a terrible fire broke out.
Dry leaves burned fast.
Flames rose high.
Smoke filled the sky.
Panic spread through the forest.
The lion ran toward the river.
The elephant trumpeted in fear.
Deer, monkeys, and rabbits
all fled to save themselves.
High above the chaos,
a small sparrow watched.
She was tiny.
Weak.
Almost invisible.
She flew toward the river,
dipped her beak into the water,
and carried one small drop.
Then she flew back
and dropped it on the fire.
Other animals noticed.
They laughed.
“What are you doing?”
mocked a monkey.
“Your drop cannot stop this fire,”
said the deer.
The sparrow did not reply.
Again,
she flew to the river.
Again,
one drop.
Again,
she dropped it on the flames.
Hour after hour,
she repeated the same action.
The fire still burned.
The forest still suffered.
Yet the sparrow did not stop.
From the sky,
the gods were watching.
They saw the powerful animals run.
They saw the weak bird persist.
Moved by her determination,
one god descended and asked,
“Little bird, why do you try
when you know you cannot succeed?”
The sparrow replied calmly,
“I know my effort alone is small.
But if I do nothing,
I have already failed.”
The god smiled.
Dark clouds gathered.
Rain poured heavily.
The fire was extinguished.
The forest was saved.
The animals stood silently.
No one laughed now.
They looked at the sparrow
with new eyes.
That day,
the forest learned something important.
Not from the strongest.
Not from the fastest.
But from the smallest.
🌟 MORAL OF THE STORY
Never underestimate small efforts.
True change begins when you do your part,
even if the result seems impossible.
