King Akbar Asked for Proof of God – Birbal’s Answer Shocked Everyone

King Akbar Asked for Proof of God – Birbal’s Answer Shocked Everyone

One afternoon in the royal court of Emperor Akbar, a debate had begun.

Some scholars were discussing philosophy.
Others were arguing about faith.

Akbar listened carefully.

Then suddenly, he turned to Birbal and asked,

“Birbal, can you prove that God exists?”

The entire court fell silent.

This was not an ordinary question.

If Birbal answered wrongly, he could offend scholars.
If he refused, he could anger the king.

But Birbal did neither.

He simply smiled.

The King’s Challenge

“Why are you smiling?” Akbar demanded.

Birbal bowed respectfully.

“Your Majesty,” he said calmly,
“May I ask you a small favor?”

Akbar nodded.

“Bring me a lamp,” Birbal requested.

A servant quickly brought a lit oil lamp and placed it before the king.

Birbal then asked,

“Your Majesty, can you see the light?”

“Of course,” Akbar replied.

“Can you see where the light ends?” Birbal asked.

Akbar looked carefully.

The glow of the lamp spread softly across the room.

But there was no clear line where it stopped.

“No,” Akbar admitted. “I cannot see its boundary.”

Birbal smiled again.

Birbal’s Answer

“Just like this light,” Birbal said,
“God’s presence can be felt, but not confined.

You may not see Him with your eyes,
but you see His effects everywhere.”

The ministers whispered.

Birbal continued,

“When the wind blows, can we see it?”

“No,” said Akbar.

“But we see leaves move. We feel its touch.

In the same way, we cannot see God directly,
but we see life, kindness, justice, and creation.”

The court grew quiet.

Even the scholars had no argument.

The Real Proof

Akbar leaned back thoughtfully.

“So, Birbal, you say God is like light and wind?”

Birbal bowed.

“Yes, Your Majesty.
Not everything that exists can be seen.
But everything that is seen is proof of something unseen.”

Akbar slowly smiled.

“You have answered wisely once again.”

The court erupted in admiration.
