Ravi did not have electricity the night before his most important exam.
While other students revised comfortably in their brightly lit rooms, he sat outside under a flickering streetlight, holding his worn-out textbook close to his face.
The cold wind made the pages shake.
But he did not move.
He had grown up in a one-room house at the edge of town. His father worked as a daily wage laborer. Some days there was work. Some days there was not.
On difficult days, there was barely enough food.
Electricity was a luxury they could not always afford.
But Ravi had something stronger than comfort.
He had determination.
Every evening after helping his mother fetch water and finish household chores, he would walk to the main road where a tall streetlight stood near a closed shop.
