The Poor Boy Who Saved for One Rose :
Ravi worked at a tea stall after school.
He earned just enough to help his mother.
There was a girl in his class — Meena. She always helped him with homework and never made fun of his worn-out shoes.
Valentine’s Day was approaching. Boys in class talked about expensive gifts.
Ravi counted his coins.
For two weeks, he skipped snacks. He walked home instead of taking the bus. He saved every rupee.
Finally, he had enough.
On Valentine’s Day, he bought one simple red rose.
When he handed it to Meena, he said nervously,
“I couldn’t afford anything big… but this is honest.”
Meena smiled and said,
“This is the most expensive gift I’ve received.”
Not because of its price — but because of its effort.
Years later, when Ravi became successful, he often said:
“The first rose I ever bought taught me that love isn’t about money. It’s about sacrifice.”
🧠 Moral
Love is measured by sincerity, not cost.
