During his youth, Hanuman was strong, intelligent, and deeply devoted to righteousness.
Yet, he felt something missing.
Though he served many sages
and followed every rule of discipline,
his heart waited for a purpose
he could not yet name.
One day, while guarding the kingdom of Kishkindha,
Hanuman noticed two strangers walking through the forest.
They were calm.
Graceful.
Radiating peace.
They were Lord Rama and Lakshmana.
Hanuman approached them,
disguised as a learned scholar.
He spoke politely,
testing their words and intentions.
But as Lord Rama looked at him,
something extraordinary happened.
Hanuman’s heart began to race.
Not from fear.
Not from excitement.
But from recognition.
A deep, unexplainable feeling filled his chest.
His eyes softened.
His voice trembled slightly.
For the first time,
Hanuman felt complete.
Though he had not yet revealed himself,
his soul already bowed.
When Hanuman finally removed his disguise
and stood humbly before Lord Rama,
tears filled his eyes.
He folded his hands
and lowered his head.
“I do not know who you are,”
Hanuman said softly,
“but my heart tells me
that my life belongs to you.”
Lord Rama smiled gently.
He placed His hand on Hanuman’s shoulder.
“In you,” Lord Rama said,
“I see strength guided by humility.”
At that moment,
Hanuman felt something he had never known before—
Peace.
All his restlessness disappeared.
He realized that his strength,
his wisdom,
and his life itself
were meant for service.
From that day onward,
Hanuman did not see himself as powerful.
He saw himself as a servant of Lord Rama.
And in that devotion,
he became the greatest.

True devotion is not learned.
