He had nothing.
Except one small coin.
In a busy town lived an old beggar.
Every day, he sat near the temple steps
asking for alms.
Some people gave him food.
Some gave him coins.
Most people ignored him.
That evening, he opened his cloth bag.
Inside it was only one coin.
That was all he had earned the whole day.
His stomach growled with hunger.
Just then, he saw a hungry little boy
standing nearby.
The boy looked weak.
His eyes were full of tears.
“I haven’t eaten since morning,”
the boy whispered.
The beggar looked at his coin.
Then at the boy.
His hands trembled.
That coin could buy him one meal.
Only one.
But the boy looked weaker than him.
Slowly, the beggar placed the coin
in the boy’s hand.
“Eat something, my child,”
he said softly.
The boy’s eyes lit up.
“Thank you, grandfather,”
he smiled and ran away.
That night, the beggar slept hungry.
But his heart felt strangely warm.
The next morning, a rich man came
looking for him.
“I saw what you did yesterday,”
the rich man said.
“You gave away your only coin.”
He handed the beggar a small bag.
Inside it were many gold coins.
“This is not charity,”
the man smiled.
“This is respect for your generosity.”
Tears rolled down the beggar’s face.
He finally understood something.
When you give from your poverty,
life gives back from its riches.
🌟 MORAL
True generosity is giving even when you have almost nothing.
