A Positive Story
He was standing at a bus stop.
With a serious face.
And tired eyes.
In a busy city
lived a man named Raj.
He had a good job.
A small flat.
And enough money.
But he was never happy.
He never smiled.
He never greeted anyone.
People called him
“the angry man.”
One evening,
Raj looked into a mirror.
He did not like
what he saw.
A sad face.
A lonely face.
He asked himself:
“When did I last smile?”
He had no answer.
That night,
Raj made a small promise.
“For the next 30 days,
I will smile at everyone I meet.”
Day 1.
He smiled at the security guard.
The guard looked confused.
Raj smiled at the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper looked away.
Raj smiled at people in the lift.
No one smiled back.
Raj felt stupid.
But he did not stop.

He smiled at the chaiwala.
The chaiwala smiled back.
And said:

they asked.

Children near his house
started waving at him.
“Smile uncle!”
they shouted.

in many years.

Raj smiled at a girl
sitting alone on a bench.
She was crying.
She looked at him.
And smiled back.
Then she said softly:
“Thank you.”
“You don’t know this…
but your smile saved my day.”
Raj’s eyes filled with tears.

Raj stood at the same bus stop.
But he was a different man.
He was lighter.
He was calmer.
He was happier.
He understood something:
“I wanted to change the world.”

I changed myself.”
